Why Zebrachair?

To me, Zebrachair is art, passion, comfort, and fun projects.

I have a zebrachair that has been with me since I was in college. It was reupholstered by my mother, Glenna Johnson (1926-2010) back in the 1980s. It is priceless.

My mom was really smart and in a different era would likely have been an executive (as opposed to “homemaker” as she referred to herself). She excelled in leadership roles in the many non-profit groups with whom she volunteered. She was a good communicator and excellent organizer. But she also had the soul of an artist and loved her craft projects. Like reupholstering furniture with interesting fabrics.

When thinking about a name for my consulting business, Zebrachair Media seemed perfect. A good zebra chair is like a work of art, yet also a functional, comfortable thing on which to sit. It’s fun, full of whimsy and utility…like a good marketing plan or advertising campaign!
